Julia Fry is a Nationally accredited massage therapist and has over six years experience in massage. She is also an infant massage instructor.

"My personal aim in working with you is to assist in teaching your body to achieve long term relaxation and healing, helping you to get in-tune with your body’s needs.

Together, we can work to find the right treatment for you to restore your freedom of movement and to achieve a pain-free body.

I am available for one off consultations or to help with long term physical problems and stress relief.

The greatest benifits of massage can be seen and felt over the long term and to get the most out of your massage sessions I suggest an intital 3 treatments close together then a regular maintance program (leaving no more than 6 weekes between treatments). This is essitintal for a numbers of reasons, for me to get to know your body, for you to feel comfortable and understand your body, and to be able to address any pain for body issuses.

I also offer couples sessions to teach basic massage techniques to help you to de-stress each other, and to do some maintenance work between massages."

Massage has its greatest benefits over time.
The therapeutic effects of massage are cumulative, so the more often you get a massage, the better you will feel & the more quickly your body will respond.

"Julia sees your body as a whole, she will get right to the source of the stress and strain, even if that's not all physical! Friendly and genuine, she puts you right at ease."

To help you choose the best style for you here are three classic styles

Therapeutic/Remedial; which is designed for those clients looking to work through body issues such as aches and pains, long term pain management or postural issues, headaches. This style of massage is suited to those clients in office work or restricted to long hours in the one postural position.

Relaxing; a combination of gentle stretching of the body and traditional oil massage, which is designed to leave the body feeling restored and leave you feeling recharged and blissful.

Invigorating; a more energising style of massage designed to reboot the body – removing toxins and working on stimulating the body and mind to set you up for a busy week.

You can mix and match these styles of massage to suit your needs. At monsoon I strive to create a warm and friendly atmosphere where I can get to know my clients which then enables me to be more in tune with your needs.

I am qualified in the following styles of massage:

"I've been a client of Monsoon Massage for 3 years. I like Julia's interactive approach: she tailors her treatment to my needs.  Her approach comes across as relaxed and friendly rather than sterile and clinical like those big expensive production-line style clinics."

Pregnancy Massage

Most Mum's-to-be realise very quickly the high demands pregnancy places on their body and how essential it is to be nurtured at this time.

Massage during pregnancy not only relieves the tensions and discomfort caused by the extra weight and the shift in your body's centre of gravity, it also reduces swelling, calms the nervous system, reduces fatigue whilst enhancing energy.

During pregnancy your whole body is adapting to the new life growing within you and you will face many significant life changes. Your health and vitality has never been more important than it is right now. The physical changes of pregnancy can be stressful and a soothing massage will loosen tight muscles and calm the nervous system. It increases circulation, carrying energy producing nutrients to your cells and eliminating metabolic waste products that can cause fatigue.

During your massage your body awareness becomes more noticeable which means you can easily identify tension areas and consciously release them.
Results you may expect to notice include:

  • Reduction of fluid retention
  • Relief of headaches caused by stress, excess toxins and constipation
  • Relief of muscular and joint pain caused by supporting extra weight
  • Decrease progress of varicose veins with enhanced circulatory stimulation
  • Release of abdominal soreness caused by baby's kicks
  • Assisting prevention of stretch marks
  • Assisting in promoting healthy body awareness

Experienced specialist practitioners are able to assist you in preparing for the birth of your baby. Regular massage to the lumbar, abdomen and the inner thigh areas will release chronic pressure for negligible resistance during the birth.

Remember that it is as essential to care for yourself in the postpartum weeks following the birth of your baby as it is during your pregnancy. Massage assists in the healing of your body by increasing circulation, promoting relaxation and gently coaxing your body back to its original shape.
Pregnancy massage can be both a treat and a therapy to ease some the aches and pains caused by the pressures of pregnancy.

At monsoon I am fully able to cater for pregnant women, with an electric table (for ease of getting on and off the table and professional bolstering. Book an appointment today.
